Cookies by Design is a woman-owned business founded in 1983 by Gwen Willhite. Gwen had the innovative idea of creating a gift that would be suitable for both men and women, especially one that men would be excited to receive at their workplaces. Combining the traditional gifts of flowers and sweets, she came up with the concept of the cookie bouquet. These edible bouquets featured custom-shaped and hand-decorated sugar and cinnamon brown sugar cookies on sticks, artfully arranged in baskets. The tasteful and delicious gifts became instant hits among both men and women. As the product not only looked impressive but also tasted delightful, Gwen's budding enterprise quickly outgrew her home kitchen and expanded into a thriving business.
