About the Brand

At Em & Friends, they want you to feel truly seen, heard, and connected to the people you love, including yourself! In good times and in hard times. (Especially those times.) They make cards and products for the relationships and lives people have: messy and beautiful, tricky and wonderful, and a whole bunch of other stuff in between.

Em & Friends was founded by Emily McDowell, joining forces with sister brand Knock Knock and then becoming part of the Union Square & Co. family. Their goal is to help people feel more connected and less alone.

Knock Knock's brilliant in-house team creates products develops books from scratch and collaborates with outside authors and other creative types. Whether it's creating sticky notes or a well-researched nonfiction book, Knock Knock enjoys spreading irreverence, wordplay, and wisdom from its sunny Los Angeles, California, location to people all over the world.

In January 2018, Em & Friends joined the Knock Knock family to form the Who's There Group, and now a fantastic LA team is working together to make both brands happen.
